Alloy steel 3145 is a nickel-chromium low-composite steel. The alloy has great hardenability, and great quality and sturdiness properties. It has fairly preferable hardenability over alloys 3140 because of the marginally higher chromium content, in addition to a higher as-extinguished hardness.
